PASSED THE SENATE

 

 

HB872, PN3591:  This bill would designate the bridge carrying State Route 1017, known as Lycoming Creek Road, over Bottle Run, Old Lycoming Township, Lycoming County, as the John Gross Memorial Bridge; and would re-designate the bridge on State Route 36 in the Borough of Mahaffey, Clearfield County, as the PFC Melvin L. Brown Memorial Bridge.  The Senate concurred in the House of Representative’s amendments by a 50-0 vote. 

SB472, PN547:  This bill would amend the Public School Code of 1949 to create a Science Technology Partnership Program between institutions of higher education and schools or school districts.  A vote of 50-0 was recorded. 

SB1116, PN1770:  This bill would require the Attorney General’s office to keep a “do not call” list until the phone number is no longer valid.  The person who requested their name be included in the list would ask for their number to be expunged.  A vote of 50-0 was recorded. 

SB1277, PN1767:  This bill would amend the Public School Code of 1949 to add “charter schools” that provide alternative education programs as their central mission to the entities (school district or combination of school districts) that may apply for funding under this section.  A vote of 30-20 was recorded. 

SB1281, PN2021:  This bill would amend the Public School Code of 1949 to permit a child who lives outside of Pennsylvania whose parents have been ordered to active military duty, other than training, to be considered a resident of his or her school district immediately prior to the relocation.  A vote of 50-0 was recorded. 

HB1281, PN3533:  This bill would amend the Pennsylvania Appalachian Trail Act to further provide for municipal responsibilities along the corridor of the Appalachian Trail in Pennsylvania. 

Senator Vance offered Amendment A07027.  The amendment would allow certain exceptions to the requirement of creating a municipal zoning ordinance for properties along the Appalachian Trail. 

The amendment was agreed to and the bill was moved up.

SB615, PN666:  The legislation provides for the regulation of Bail Bond Enforcement Agents defined as a person licensed to recapture suspects who are released on bail. 

Senator Greenleaf offered Amendment A06899.  The amendment would provide for a fine amount of $10,000 for a violator.

The amendment was agreed to and the bill was moved up.
