SB 1181 PN 2035 (Ward) This bill amends the
Insurance Company Law of 1921 providing insurers and
their representatives whose responsibilities include the
investigation of fraudulent claims with immunity from
liability when sharing or receiving information on
persons suspected or engaged in fraudulent acts. This
bill was approved by a unanimous 14-0 vote.
SB 1222 PN 2036 (Ward) This bill amends
Act 85 of 1996 known as the Health Security Act to
prohibit insurers from setting fees for non-covered
dentist’s services. This bill was approved by a
unanimous 14-0 vote.
SB 1334 PN 2037
(D. White)
This bill provides that a service contract shall not be
construed to be the business of insurance and shall
therefore be exempt from regulation as insurance.
This bill was approved by a unanimous 14-0 vote.
HB 838 PN 3868 (Longietti) This bill amends the
Insurance Company Law of 1921 to provide access to
community pharmacy services and prohibit discrimination.
This bill was approved by a vote of 12-2
HB 1251 PN 3869 (D. Costa) This bill amends the
Insurance Company Law of 1921 providing for a mechanism
to appeal denials of long-term care benefit coverage,
for mini-COBRA premium assistance and derivative
investments by insurers. The bill was adopted by a
unanimous 14-0 vote.

SB 507 PN 1852 (Folmer) This bill establishes
the Pennsylvania High-Risk Health Insurance Pool to
provide medical insurance for certain eligible persons
and dependents unable to obtain coverage through
conventional insurance plans.

insurance in Pennsylvania by implementing the

Model Act for the regulation of Credit Life Insurance
and Credit Accident and Health Insurance further
providing for premiums and refunds.

Senate Bill 381 (Vance)
This bill amends the Continuing-Care Provider
Registration and Disclosure Act of 1984 (Act 82 of 1984)
by expanding the authority, scope and scheduling of
examinations by the Insurance Commissioner with respect
to Continuing-care facilities.
Senate Bill 1002 (Vance) This bill requires
the Department of Insurance to utilize disenrollment
data obtained by insurers to enroll eligible adults from
the adult basic waiting list on a monthly basis.

Senate Bill 493 (Stack) This bill amends the
Insurance Company act (Act 284 of 1921) with respect to
surplus lines of insurance and makes technical updates
in terminology to conform with the Producer Licensing
Modernization Act of 2002 (Act 147 of 2002)
House Bill 1654 (Daley) This bill amends Title 7
(Banks and Banking) to further provide for the
regulation and licensure of the mortgage loan industry
in Pennsylvania in conformance with federal law.
