House Bill 1828 (PN 2521)(Williams) This bill amends the
Municipal Pension Plan Funding Standard and Recovery Act to implement a
modification to all municipal pensions systems, but most importantly the
legislation addresses the actuarial funding requirements applicable to
the City of Philadelphia's municipal employees' retirement system. The
bill permits Philadelphia to temporarily impose a local sales and use
tax of 1% to help fund the shortfall in the economic stability of the
existing system.

House Bill 1661 (PN 2606)(Dermody) This bill proposes a
freestanding act for a temporary moratorium of court-ordered countywide
assessment pending the outcome of a study of the property tax
reassessment system by the General Assembly.

Senate Bill 918 (PN 1109)(Eichelberger) This bill amends Title
53 (Municipalities Generally) by adding Chapter 88 to consolidate and
change the Third Class County Assessment Board Law and the Fourth to
Eighth Class and Selective County Assessment Law. Would not apply to
Allegheny County or Philadelphia. The legislation was drafted by the
Local Government Commission.
Senate Bill 952 (PN 1155)(Tomlinson) This bill amends the Tax
Code to provide for additions to the tax liability for the preceding
taxable year. Allows PA taxpayers to estimate their tax payments similar
to that allowed for Federal income taxes.

Senate Bill 953 (PN 1311)(Tomlinson) This bill amends the Tax
Code further providing for income tax returns to make the state parallel
and consistent with Internal Revenue Code relating to joint returns by
husband and wife.

Construction local tax Abatement Act to provide for a procedure for
obtaining an exemption.
House Bill 1182 (PN 1830)(Casorio) This bill amends the Public
Employee Pension Forfeiture Act to trigger the forfeiture of pension
benefits retroactive to the date of preliminary arraignment.
