LOGAN URGES CENSUS PARTICIPATION

HARRISBURG,
January 5 –
State Sen. Sean Logan today underscored the
importance of citizens fully participating
in the upcoming U.S. Census and provided an
informational link on his Website.
The informational census link
can be reached at
www.senatorlogan.com
“Too many people do not realize
how important it is for them to stand up and
be counted,” Logan said. “This Census data
will be used over the next decade as the
basis for what kind of government resources
and representation citizens receive.
“The strength of our region’s Census count
will determine the strength of our
representation in Congress, as well as how
over $400 billion in federal service and
program dollars will be divided between the
50 states. The Census impacts a wide range
of funding including our schools, road and
bridge construction, senior centers,
hospitals, police protection and many more.”
Logan said that not everyone will receive a
Census form to fill out, but if your
household does receive one, it is important
that you fill it out accurately and return
it. He said the 2010 Census is shorter and
easier than questionnaires from past years.
The information is completely confidential
and used only for statistical purposes.
The link on Logan’s website details on how
the Census works, why it is important to be
counted, and how a citizen’s privacy is
protected.
Logan said the 10 questions Census is
scheduled to be mailed out in March.
