TARTAGLIONE RESOLUTION DESIGNATES MAY AS ‘LAW MONTH’ IN PA.

HARRISBURG, April 30 – The state Senate this week unanimously passed a resolution, sponsored by state Sen. Christine M. Tartaglione, designating May as “Law Month” in Pennsylvania.

The Pennsylvania Bar Association plans a month filled with events intended to educate young Pennsylvanians about the legal system that affects every facet of their lives.

“The purpose of these activities is to educate people of all ages about the legal system and to celebrate the American heritage of liberty, justice and equality,” Tartaglione said in introducing the resolution on the Senate floor.

The month begins with the 50th annual “Law Day” on Thursday.

During the month of May, schools, attorneys and judges are encouraged to work together and arrange for classroom visits as part of the celebration.

“This will provide school children the opportunity to explore the ways in which they can have an impact on our world,” Tartaglione said.

The annual observance of “Law Day” is part of the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s continuing partnership with the Pennsylvania Bar Foundation, and the Pennsylvania Department of Education through the Pennsylvania Coalition for Representative Democracy (PennCORD).
