WASHINGTON INVITES FAMILIES TO HEALTH & HUMAN SERVICE DAY

          PHILADELPHIA, October 18 – State Senator Leanna M. Washington (D-Philadelphia/Montgomery), along with Abington Memorial Hospital will host the first Health and Human Service Day for Young Families.          

          “I am so pleased to join Abington Hospital in holding this informative event for young families,” Washington said. “This event will bring valuable information vital for many young families right to the community.” 

          Vendors will be available with information about childcare and early childhood education, child support, child welfare, foster care and adoption, drug and alcohol, mental health and mental retardation, as well as youth programs and services. 

          “I hope parents and their children will join me at this event,” Washington said.

          The event will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2005 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Crestmont Park on Old Welsh Road and Reservoir Avenue.

          Vendors and Organizations scheduled for the event include Montgomery County Health Department, NAMI, Montgomery County Mental Retardation, CHIP Program, Montgomery County Children and Youth, Deaf Services, Montgomery Mental Health Department, Career Links, Montgomery County Drug and Alcohol, CADCOM, Montgomery County Aging and Adult Services and Aldersgate Youth Services Bureau.
