WASHINGTON TO BE RECOGNIZED AS A ‘WOMAN OF DISTINCTION’

          HARRISBURG, November 28 – State Senator LeAnna M. Washington (D-Philadelphia/Montgomery) will be honored as a ‘Woman of Distinction’ at the 8th Annual Awards Banquet sponsored by the Philadelphia Business Journal. 

          “I am deeply honored to be recognized by the Philadelphia Business Journal and the National Association of Women Business Owners,” Washington said.  “It has been the driving force of my career to stay steadfastly committed to the community.”

          The awards program will be held on Wednesday, November 30, 2005 at the Wyndham Franklin Plaza hotel at 17th and Race Street in Philadelphia at 6:15 p.m.

          The Philadelphia Business Journal and the National Association of Women Business Owners recognize 25 outstanding females who are proven performers in their career and committed to the community.

          Washington and her fellow honorees will also be profiled in the Business Journal’s December 2nd issue.

          “I am proud to join some of the most successful and distinguished women from the Philadelphia area,” Washington said.  “This is indeed an privilege and honor to stand among the best and brightest in our community.  I am looking forward to meeting the other honorees.”
