Washington |
PHILADELPHIA, August 16 – State Senator
LeAnna M. Washington
(D-Philadelphia/Montgomery) is encouraging
seniors to take advantage of the 2005 Senior
Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program Produce
Vouchers.
“This is a wonderful program for
low income seniors,” Washington said. “It
ensures that they will get the benefits of
nutritious fruits and vegetables without the
strain on their income.”
The vouchers, worth twenty dollars
per person, are available at Philadelphia
Corporation for Aging, 642 North Broad
Street, in the lobby. They are available
from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through
Friday, while supplies last.
“This is a one time a year
program, so act fast to receive your
valuable produce vouchers,” Washington said.
Washington added that anyone
desiring produce vouchers must be 60 years
of age or older, live in Philadelphia and
have an income of $17,705 (single) or
$23,736 (married). Proof of address and age
are required and each person must sign for
and receive vouchers in person. |
