WASHINGTON: WADSWORTH DAY TO FEATURE VARIETY OF ENTERTAINMENT

            PHILADELPHIA, September 6 – State Senator LeAnna M. Washington (D-Philadelphia/Montgomery) today announced the entertainment lineup for the upcoming 12th annual Wadsworth Day.

            The festival, which is free and open to the entire community, takes place on Saturday, Sept. 15 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on the 1500 and 1600 blocks of Wadsworth Avenue, between Cheltenham and Michener avenues. 

            “This year’s event will have a variety of entertainment that the entire family will enjoy,” Washington said. “I look forward to seeing and hearing all the wonderful talent that will be featured at the festival.”

            Performances include

  • Blue Magic (headliner);

  • Mrs. Valray and Songstresses Celebrating Sisterhood;

  • Peter Nero presents the Philly POP Fest Brass Band;

  • Gospel recording artist Four:13;

  • Universal African dance and drum ensemble U.P.K.;

  • Dance teams Crestment Steppers, Simons Drill Team and Wadsworth Steppers;

  • The Unison TV kids present DancePhillyDance, hosted by Ms. Vikki Diva, featuring Ki Ki Shae;

            Additional performances include Sister Akilah, Ebonic Flow, Anthony Gordon, Urban Idol finalist Tyherea Brown, Keshia Renee, Anthony Hall, Taphy Spencer, America’s Got Talent runner up Odysy, Nicki Novimber, Brave Warriors Mime Ministry, Endless Praise Dance Ministry, Shekinah Praise and Worship Dance Ministry, Moving in Praise Gospel Line Dance, Philly Movement Dance Co. and Maestilo Salsa Dance Co.
