WASHINGTON TO HOST HEARING ON
STATE’S FOSTER CARE SYSTEM

– State Sen. LeAnna M. Washington
(D-Philadelphia/Montgomery), along with her
colleagues in the Senate Democratic Policy
Committee, will host the first of several
statewide hearings on the state’s foster
care system next week.
The public hearing will take place on
Wednesday, Nov. 14 from 9 to 11 a.m. in
Hearing Room 3 North Office Building in the
Capitol Complex in Harrisburg.
Additional hearings will take place in
Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, with dates and
locations to be announced shortly.
“It’s clear that we need to closely examine
Pennsylvania’s tumultuous foster care
system,” Washington said. “These hearings
will shed light on all aspects of foster
care and provide the committee with the
knowledge to help improve the system.”
The public is welcome to attend and speak at
the hearing. Anyone wishing to offer
