WASHINGTON ANNOUNCES GRANT TO HELP AUTISTIC
PENNSYLVANIANS
|

Washington |
HARRISBURG, November 28 —
A new opportunity to help Pennsylvanians
with autism enter the workforce is now
available, according to state Sen. LeAnna
Washington (D-Philadelphia/Montgomery).
State funding is now available
to help service providers create training
programs that would help autistic
Pennsylvanians who have completed their
education and are seeking employment.
“There is a great need for
training programs for autistic
Pennsylvanians who have an education and
want to work,” Washington said. “Thanks to
this new grant opportunity, service
providers can launch transition programs
that will give individuals with autism the
skills they need to succeed in the
workforce. I encourage organizations who
provide autism services to apply for this
grant.”
Proposals must be completed and
submitted electronically to the Pennsylvania
Department of Public Welfare’s Bureau of
Autism Services by Dec. 12.
