WASHINGTON TO HOST TECHNOLOGY

HARRISBURG, June 5 –
State Sen. LeAnna Washington
(D-Philadelphia/Montgomery) today announced
that she will host the 2nd Annual
Preparing Tomorrow’s Innovative Leaders
Technology Symposium on Thursday, June 12.
Washington said the event will
take place at the Temple University Student
Activity Center from 8:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.
“I am excited to be hosting the
symposium again this year with Temple
University,” Washington said. “We have a
day full of activities planned to help
Philadelphia’s youth understand the
importance of science, technology,
engineering, and math in their bright
futures.”
Washington said the goal of the
program is to motivate and encourage young
people to take advantage of the growing
opportunities in science, technology,
engineering, and math related industries.
The event will include
workshops, exhibits, and robotic and
multi-media demonstrations. A new
Technology Business Plan Competition has
been added this year where students can win
up to $500.
The Temple University Student
Activity Center is located at 1755 North 13th
Street in Philadelphia.
