DETAILS:
Sen. Washington, along with her colleagues
in the Senate Democratic Policy Committee,
will host a public hearing on improving the
state’s foster care system. The hearing will
focus on foster care issues ranging from
criteria for placement, foster parent
eligibility, agency accountability and
seeking ways to prevent problems that ensue
when kids “age out” of the system. The
committee will hear from several speakers,
including Anna Marie Ambrose, the new
commissioner of the Philadelphia Department
of Human Services.
