Hughes to Announce New Tactics in Safe Communities Strategies

            PHILADELPHIA, December 19 – State Sen. Vincent Hughes (D-Phila) will announce new tactics in his ongoing “Safe Communities” strategy, at 10:00 a.m., at the Philadelphia Police Headquarters, on Friday, December 21, 2007.

To-date Hughes’ Safe Communities strategy has included the launch of “Gun Safe Philadelphia” a new tip line that rewards citizens whose information leads to police seizure of illegal guns and the arrest of their possessors and numerous goods for guns exchanges that encourage citizens to trade guns for gift certificates.
