LOCAL BUSINESSES TO
RECEIVE SUPPORT FROM HUGHES

PHILADELPHIA, March 4
– State Senator Vincent Hughes (D-Phila.)
will hold a news conference on Wednesday,
March 5, at 3:30 p.m.,
to announce a major grant to the
Philadelphia Commercial Development
Corporation PCDC.
The Pennsylvania Department of
Transportation grant is intended to help
sustain and promote business continuity and
growth along the Market Street corridor – an
area that has been severely impacted in
recent years as a result of SEPTA’s
long-term reconstruction of its elevated
“El” train system.
Through its Market Street Reinvestment Fund,
PCDC has disbursed more than $876,600 to 387
local businesses. The PennDOT grant will
help address the needs of more than 177
businesses that are currently eligible to
receive assistance.
