HUGHES TO HOST STUDENT FINANCIAL AID HEARING TOMORROW

WHAT:     Intergovernmental Hearing on Student Lending

WHEN:     Friday, June 13 from 9:00 a.m. to noon

WHERE:   Philadelphia City Hall, Council Chambers, 4^th Floor

DETAILS: State Sen. Vincent Hughes, along with Congressman Chaka Fattah and Councilwoman Blondell Reynolds-Brown, will host an intergovernmental hearing on student lending.

                The panel will hear testimony and offer potential solutions with respect to the current state of student lending and college financial aid.

                PHEAA President/CEO James Preston, PA Department of Education Deputy Secretary for Higher/Postsecondary Education Kate Shaw, and representatives from the US Department of Education, and local colleges and universities are expected to provide testimony.
