PHILADELPHIA, January 20
– Students concerned about paying for
college can receive a free copy of
Pennsylvania’s Guide to Student Aid 2006-07
from the Pennsylvania Higher Education
Assistance Agency (PHEAA), according to
state Sen. Shirley M. Kitchen.
“No one should be discouraged from pursuing
their academic dreams by financial issues,”
said Kitchen (D-Philadelphia). “There are
resources out there for every young person
who wants a college education. This book is
one such resource, and it’s a good place to
start for Pennsylvania students.”
The student aid guide provides information
on financial aid options, how to determine
one’s financial need, how to apply for aid,
and descriptions of available programs. The
book also includes a checklist, timeline,
and list of online resources.
High school students can find the book at
their counselor’s office. Students and their
families may also contact PHEAA at
717-720-2509 to obtain their own copy.
Philadelphia-area students may contact the
PHEAA Regional Office at 215-735-2877.
Additional college planning assistance is
available at
www.EducationPlanner.com, a Web site
created by PHEAA and Peterson’s. |
