HARRISBURG, August 11 - - State Sen. Shirley Kitchen today applauded the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection for awarding a $121,400 grant to the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission under the Pennsylvania Air Pollution Control Program.

“Air quality is a top concern among cities as large as Philadelphia,” Kitchen said.  “This grant money will go a long way to educate our citizens on how to preserve the atmosphere and keep the air we breathe less polluted with dangerous chemicals.”

The grant money will be used to actively educate the public in Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery Counties about ground level ozone pollution and the steps that can be taken to reduce the chemical precursors that form ozone.
