PHILADELPHIA, May 21:
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan
McNabb and his wife Roxie will be
participating in Ludlow Community Day this
weekend, according to state Sen. Shirley
Kitchen.
The McNabbs will be helping event staff hand
out clothes to the needy during the
community event, which will take place from
11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 26 on
West Oxford Street between 6th
and 7th streets in North
Philadelphia. The McNabbs will arrive at
1 p.m.
“Donovan McNabb is an excellent role model
for our young people, so I’m so pleased that
he and his wife are participating in Ludlow
Community Day,” said Kitchen, who is hosting
the event. “He is always professional in any
situation, and he never lets circumstances
or people determine how he reacts. Our young
people can look up to McNabb, who is his own
person and thinks on his own.”
Throughout the day, there will be free food,
entertainment, health vendors and activities
for children, including double-dutch rope,
chess games, backgammon and dancing lessons.
“Ludlow Community Day is a great way to
kick-off Memorial Day weekend and enjoy an
outdoor event with our neighbors,” Kitchen
said.
Kitchen is hosting Ludlow
Community Day with Pastor Maria
Gardner-Thomas of B.M. Oakley Memorial
Temple C.O.G.I.C. and Da-Network Housing.
Keystone Mercy Health Plan is sponsoring the
event.
