KITCHEN ANNOUNCES FUNDING FOR WASTE
MANAGEMENT IMPROVEMENTS

PHILADELPHIA, August 3 –
Philadelphia will soon receive state funding
to improve waste management in the city,
according to state Sen. Shirley Kitchen.
The $120,000 grant will be used to reimburse
up to 80 percent of the costs to revise the
city’s solid waste management plan.
“I am pleased that the city and state are
working together to keep Philadelphia up to
date with its waste management,” Kitchen
said. “Together, the city and state can help
Philadelphia function properly for our
citizens.”
The funding was administered by the
Department of Environmental Protection’s
County Planning Grant Program.
