KITCHEN: FREE FLU SHOTS AVAILABLE TO THE COMMUNITY THIS NOVEMBER

PHILADELPHIA, OCT. 23, 2007 State Sen. Shirley Kitchen today announced that she will host free flu shot clinics on four different dates in November. No appointment is necessary.

The flu shots will be available from 9 a.m. to noon on Monday, Nov. 5; Tuesday, Nov. 13; Monday, Nov. 19; and Monday, Nov. 26 at the senator’s district office, located at 1701 W. Lehigh Ave., suite 104.

“Flu season is now upon us, so I hope everyone will take advantage of this opportunity to receive a free vaccination,” Kitchen said. “It’s especially important that residents older than 65, younger people with chronic illnesses such as diabetes and asthma, children ages 6 months to 2 years, pregnant women and health workers to get a flu shot, as these individuals are considered at high risk by the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention.”

Quality Community Health Care, a Philadelphia-based non-profit, is partnering with Kitchen for these events.
