KITCHEN: FREE FLU SHOTS AVAILABLE TO THE COMMUNITY ON NOV. 26

PHILADELPHIA, November 19 — State Sen. Shirley Kitchen today reminded local citizens that they still have an opportunity to receive a free flu shot.

The last of the senator’s flu shot clinics will take place on Monday, Nov. 26 from 9 a.m. to noon at the senator’s district office, located at 1701 W. Lehigh Ave., suite 104.  No appointment is necessary.

This is the fourth and final flu shot clinic that the senator sponsored this month at her district office.

“I’m happy to say that many people have already stopped in for their vaccination. I hope that those who haven’t gotten their flu shot yet this season stop by my office next week,” Kitchen said. “It’s especially important that residents older than 65, younger people with chronic illnesses such as diabetes and asthma, children ages 6 months to 2 years, pregnant women and health workers to get a flu shot, as these individuals are considered at high risk by the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention.”

Quality Community Health Care, a Philadelphia-based non-profit, is partnering with Kitchen for these events.
