PHILADELPHIA, January 4: The public is invited to attend two free upcoming workshops on energy conservation and mortgage foreclosures, according to state Sen. Shirley Kitchen.

"Whether residents are concerned about lowering their energy bills or facing mortgage foreclosure, they will find answers at these helpful workshops,” Kitchen said. “I encourage everyone to attend and receive free expert guidance at these events.”

The senator and the Energy Coordinating Agency are sponsoring an Energy Conservation Workshop on Tuesday, Jan. 15 at 10 a.m. at Olde Kensington Lehigh Senior Center, located at 1701 W. Lehigh Ave.

Attendees will learn how to seal their home through tips on using plastic storm windows, weather stripping and V-seal. Learn how to use a caulk gun and how to install foam insulation, rope caulk and automatic clock thermostats. Free weatherization materials will be offered.

The senator and the Energy Coordinating Agency are also sponsoring an Energy Conservation and Mortgage Foreclosure Workshop on Monday, Jan. 21 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, located at 5th Street and Nedro Avenue (entrance is on the Nedro Avenue side). The Greater Olney Community Council, Inc. is hosting the event.

In addition to learning energy conservation tips, participants can also learn more about mortgage foreclosures, disputes, debt collection, real estate fraud and more from attorneys Robert Cocco and Matthew Weisberg.
