PHILADELPHIA, March 19: State Sen. Shirley Kitchen (D-Philadelphia) reminds her constituents that March 24 is the last day to register to vote in the upcoming April 22 Pennsylvania primary election.

“On April 22, voters have a chance to select candidates for the state and local elections in both political parties, and Democrats will have a historic opportunity to elect a Democratic presidential nominee,” Kitchen said. “I encourage unregistered individuals to take advantage of their fundamental right and register to vote.”

In order to qualify, potential voters must be a citizen of the United States for at least one month before the next election; a resident of Pennsylvania and your election district for at least 30 days before the next election; and at least 18 years of age on the day of the next election.

Constituents can visit the senator’s Web site, www.senatorkitchen.com, and click on the “Register to Vote” link at the bottom of the page to apply online or print out an application.

Applications are also available at the senator’s district offices, located at 1701 W. Lehigh Ave., Suite 104 (call 215-227-6161) and 119 W. Tabor Road (call 215-457-9033), as well as any post office, public library or state liquor store.
