KITCHEN INVITES PUBLIC TO ENERGY CONSERVATION WORKSHOPS

            PHILADELPHIA, March 25 – Residents can gain a basic understanding of the best and most cost-effective ways to reduce their energy usage at upcoming Energy Conservation Workshops, sponsored by state Sen. Shirley Kitchen (D-Philadelphia).

            “Homeowners can take some simple steps to keep their energy bills down all year long,” Kitchen said. “I encourage everyone to come to an upcoming workshop and get valuable cost-cutting advice.”

            The Energy Conservation Workshops will take place on the following dates:

·         Thursday, April 3 at 6 p.m. at HERO, located at 3439 N. 17th St.

·         Thursday, April 17 at 6 p.m. at Tioga Nicetown Civic League, located at 3975 Germantown Ave.

            Attendees will learn how to seal their home through tips on using plastic storm windows, weather stripping and V-seal. Learn how to use a caulk gun and how to install foam insulation, rope caulk and automatic clock thermostats. Free weatherization materials will be offered.
