Sen. Shirley Kitchen today released the
following statement on the passing of
Pennsylvania’s Lt. Gov. Catherine Baker
Knoll:
“I was saddened to learn of the death of our
Lt. Gov. Catherine Baker Knoll, and I want
to extend my condolences to her family.
“Catherine Baker Knoll presided over the
Senate with gentility. She ensured that the
Senate sessions were run orderly and
efficiently, but with compassion and
fairness. Beyond the Senate chambers, she
was a proud ambassador of Pennsylvania and a
role model for women. We will truly miss our
dear ‘Madam President."
