KITCHEN: FREE FLU SHOTS AVAILABLE TO COMMUNITY DEC. 8, 15

PHILADELPHIA, December 3: State Sen. Shirley Kitchen today reminded local citizens that they still have an opportunity to receive a free flu shot.

The senator’s final two flu shot clinics will take place on Monday, Dec. 8 and Monday, Dec. 15 from 9 a.m. to noon at the senator’s district office, located at 1701 W. Lehigh Ave., suite 104.  No appointment is necessary.

These are the final flu shot clinics that the senator sponsored this season at her district office.

“I’m happy to say that many people have already stopped in for their vaccination. I hope that those who haven’t gotten their flu shot yet this season stop by my office during the next two weeks,” Kitchen said. “It’s especially important that residents older than 65, younger people with chronic illnesses such as diabetes and asthma, children ages 6 months to 2 years, pregnant women and health workers get a flu shot, as these individuals are considered at high risk by the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention.”

Quality Community Health Care, a Philadelphia-based non-profit, is partnering with Kitchen for these events.
