DETAILS:         Sen. Kitchen will be sworn in to a fourth four-year term in office tomorrow at the Capitol in Harrisburg. The senator was first elected to the Senate in 1996, and was the second African American woman to be elected to the state senate. Sen. Kitchen chairs the Senate Urban Affairs and Housing committee. She is also a member of the committees on Public Health and Welfare, Veteran Affairs and Emergency Preparedness and Agriculture and Rural Affairs. She has also chaired the Philadelphia Senate Delegation since 2005.
