KITCHEN’S THANKSGIVING FOOD DISTRIBUTION BENEFITED HUNDREDS

            PHILADELPHIA, December 11 — Hundreds of local families had a joyful Thanksgiving following state Sen. Shirley Kitchen’s recent annual Thanksgiving food distribution.

           Kitchen and her staff gave out more than 750 turkeys and fixings on to individuals and families who otherwise would not have enjoyed a Thanksgiving dinner.

            “Everyone deserves to have a Happy Thanksgiving, and this turkey drive ensured that families had a good meal to enjoy,” Kitchen said. “This is the time of year where we count our blessings and give to those in need, and this was one small way that my staff and I could give back to the community.”

            Although the donations have decreased in the last couple of years due to tough economic times, the senator was grateful that several donors contributed to this year’s distribution, most notably a local business and community organization.
