KITCHEN TO HOST ‘SECOND CHANCE’ LEGISLATION RALLY IN HARRISBURG

WHAT:             Second Chance Legislation Rally

WHERE:           State Capitol Steps, Harrisburg 

DETAILS:         Sen. Kitchen will hold her annual rally to support legislation that would provide real solutions for non-violent ex-offenders who are looking for employment, thereby reducing recidivism and helping men and women who have paid their debt to society become responsible working citizens. 

Dr. Keith Leaphart from the Leaphart Group; attorney Suzanne Young from Community Legal Services; Wali Smith, director of the NAACP-Philadelphia Prison Society; Angus Love, executive director of the Pennsylvania Institutional Law Project; Derrick Ford from the Philadelphia Department of Behavioral Health; Anthony Stultz, founder and director of the Blue Mountain Lotus Society; Wilfredo Rojas, director of the Office of Community Justice and Outreach, Philadelphia Prison System; and Malik Aziz from the National Exodus Council. Additionally, ex-offenders Dolores Reyes, Jim Kuney and Wallace Custis will share their stories. Various state lawmakers are also expected to speak.
