Leach to participate in PA Progressive Summit this weekend

            HARRISBURG, January 27 – State Sen. Daylin Leach (D-Delaware/Montgomery) announced that he will participate in the 2010 Pennsylvania Progressive Summit to be held this weekend in Harrisburg.

            The summit, sponsored by Keystone Progress, SEIU and The Pennsylvania AFL-CIO, is described as “the largest, most dynamic gathering of progressive activists ever assembled in Pennsylvania … coming together to galvanize the progressive movement in our state, make new alliances [and] discuss the important issues of our time.”

           “I am thrilled to be a part of the Pennsylvania Progressive Summit and to get together and vet new ideas with my peers,” Leach said. “This will be an opportunity for me to discuss my legislative agenda among the very people who are willing to do the hard work of promoting progressive policy in Pennsylvania." 

            Informational sessions presented at the summit will include a panel discussion about equality legislation at the local, state and federal levels, clean energy legislation, education issues and strategies, and other topics.   

            The Pennsylvania Progressive Summit will be held at the Sheraton Harrisburg Hershey Hotel, 4650 Lindle Road, Harrisburg, PA 17111. Registration begins at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 29, and the summit will wrap up at 11:00 p.m. the following day.
