STOUT ANNOUNCES AIRPORT GRANT

Stout

EIGHTY FOUR, May 9 - State Sen. J. Barry Stout (D-Greene) today announced $203,775 in funding for Greene County Airport to repair the main terminal apron.

“The Greene County Airport is used on a regular basis for business and corporate flying, so we need to make sure it is a safe place,” Stout said.  “The airport brings many visitors to the area, who then spend money in our hotels, restaurants and other local businesses.”

The repairs would be financed with a combination of federal and state funds to rehabilitate the main apron, which is in very poor condition.  This will alleviate debris from deteriorating pavement from damaging aircraft or injuring airport users.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Aviation will administer the grant.
