WOZNIAK ANNOUNCES LOAN FOR CLINTON COUNTY BUSINESS

Wozniak

HARRISBURG, January 25 State Sen. John N. Wozniak announced today a small business tourism loan for a truck stop in Clinton County.

The Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) ratified the $150,000 loan for Bald Eagle Truck Stop in McElhattan, under the First Industries program.

“Preserving jobs and providing incentives for job creation are top priorities of mine,” Wozniak said. “I’m pleased that we can provide local businesses with the help they need to weather the recession and push toward a brighter future.”

The primary business of Bald Eagle Truck Stop is the operation of a convenience store and gas station. The loan will be used to construct a new building.

SEDA-COG, a 50-year-old economic development organization that includes 11 north-central Pennsylvania counties as members, applied for the loan and will serve as the conduit for the funding.

“Public-private partnerships are critical parts of economic development,” Wozniak said. “By combining their efforts, rural central Pennsylvania counties can compete with other regions for available funding.”

The First Industries Fund is a loan, loan guarantee, and grant program aimed at strengthening Pennsylvania’s agriculture and tourism industries. The program is administered by both the Commonwealth Financing Authority and the Department of Community and Economic Development.
