The Senate this week unanimously approved House Bill 237, which would amend the Mechanics’ Lien Law of 1963 to provide for the electronic indexing of waivers of mechanics’ liens. The bill now goes to the Governor for enactment.

By a unanimous vote, the Senate approved Senate Bill 1222, which would enact the standards of the Department of State’s Voting Standards Development Board for the 2004 general election. The bill now goes to the House.

            The Senate unanimously approved Senate Bill 1112, which would establish a board of directors for the Rouse Estate in Warren County.  The Rouse Estate was an almshouse created to benefit the poor.  It has evolved into a long-term care facility, assisted living facility and daycare facility. The bill now goes to the House.
