SENATE DEMOCRATIC WRAP-UP FOR THE WEEK OF
February 9, 2009

Return to Home Page

The Senate unanimously approved Senate Bill 47

The bill would amend the Public Welfare Code by requiring that each gubernatorial appointment to the County Board of Assistance be endorsed by the senator of the district in which the nominee resides.  In the case of a senate vacancy in that district, the nominee must be endorsed by a senator of an adjacent district.

The measure is now in the House Health and Human Resources Committee.
