SB 1249:  The bill creates the Congressional Redistricting Act of 2011.


The Senate State Government Committee met on Tuesday, June 28, 2011, and unanimously reported out the following resolution as committed:

SR 130 (Greenleaf) This resolution honors William Penn and Hannah Callowhill Penn and endorses the construction of a memorial to recognize their contributions to history on the Independence Mall in Philadelphia.  A vote of 11-0 was recorded.

SR 148 (McIlhinney) The resolution adopts the population data certified by the Legislative Reapportionment Commission for use in congressional redistricting legislation.

HB 488 (Hutchinson) The bill authorizes Venango County to convey a right-of-way over certain Project 70 lands in Oakland Township, Venango County, free of restrictions imposed by the Project 70 Land Acquisition and Borrowing Act.

SB 263 (Erickson) The bill amends the act of June 25, 1982, which created the Independent Regulatory Review Commission by requiring empirical data be included with proposed regulations.

SB 916 (McIlhinney) The bill amends the Election code by adopting voting standards developed by the Voting Standards Development Board to all elections in 2011 and 2012.

SB 101(Smucker) – The bill increases the penalties for a violation of the Sunshine Act.

SB 104 (Folmer) – The bill sets requirements for state-owned vehicle use.

SB 106 (Ward) – The bill proposes an amendment to the Pennsylvania Constitution prohibiting a sine die legislative session following the November general election in even-numbered years.

SB 109 (Folmer) – The bill creates the Taxpayer-Funded Advertising Transparency Act, which requires disclosure when taxpayer funds are used for advertising.

SB 717 (Wozniak) – The bill designates and adopts the Piper J-3 Cub as the official airplane of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
