HB 1737 (Maher) The bill adds a new subsection under section 206 of the act in order to allow for the safe and complete destruction of unused prescription drugs and pharmaceutical waste generated by household through industrial furnaces, resources recovery facilities, or other facilities.

SR 385 (Brooks) The resolution directs the Joint State Government Commission to conduct a study to analyze and identify which environmental laws and regulations of this Commonwealth have more stringent standards than Federal law requires.

HB 1103 (Zimmerman) The bill exempts agricultural “high tunnels” from the requirements of the Storm Water Management Act.

SB 513 (McGarrigle) The bill would allow the vehicular transportation of leachate discharged from a municipal or private landfill’s collection and handling system.

The committee unanimously approved the nomination of Cindy Dunn as Secretary of the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.

SB 214 (Yaw) A free standing act that provides for distribution system extension and expansion plans to increase the use of natural gas in Pennsylvania. The bill is known as the “Natural Gas Consumer Access Act.”

SB 289 (Fontana) The bill allows municipalities to use public funds for the improvement, extension, repair or rehabilitation of private lateral sewage lines connected to public sewer systems where the municipality or municipal authority determines that such activities will benefit the public sewer system.

SB 307 (Yudichak) The bill amends the Administrative Code. This bill adds a subsection to Section 471 to allow for the board to have an independent counsel to assist the board in its review of proposed and final rulemakings, and all other matters before the board.

SB 148 (Yaw) The bill would prohibit a gas company from retaliating against a royalty interest owner by terminating the lease agreement or ceasing development because a landowner questions the accuracy of the royalty payments.

SB 279 (Hutchinson) The bill would establish the Penn Grade Crude Development Advisory Council.
