SB 891, PN 1413 (Ward) – SB 891 waives the tolls for vehicles accompanying a fallen firefighter, ambulance service or rescue squad member, law enforcement officer or armed service member killed in the line of duty.  A vote of 50-0 was recorded.

HB 907, PN 2335 (Ross) – This bill would amend the Real Estate Tax Sale Law, Act 542 of 1947, (RETSL) to add a definition for “posted” or “posting.” The bill would establish standardized guidelines for posting tax delinquent property prior to a sale.  A vote of 50-0 was recorded.

SB 1071, PN 1410 (Browne) – Amends Titles 24 (Education), 51 (Military Affairs), and 71 (State Government) extensively revising how public pensions are managed in the commonwealth.  The bill would establish a new side-by-side hybrid pension plan for SERS and PSERS, effective for most state employees hired on or after January 1, 2016 and for all school employees hired on or after July 1, 2016. The new pension plan establishes a Defined Contribution (DC) retirement plan and adds a new Cash Balance (CB) retirement benefit tier to the existing Defined Benefit (DB) plan structure.  A vote of 30-20 was recorded.

HB 1279, PN 2570 (W. Keller) – This is a bridge and road naming bill.  Senator Rafferty offered amendment A04513, which removed some roads and bridges from the bill.  The amendment was agreed to and the bill went over in its order as amended.
