Post Session Report: June 21, 2011

HB 148, PN 2144: The bill amends the Liquor Code (Act 21 of 1951) by adding definitions making happy hour times more flexible, and provides for the creation of a new off-premises catering license. A vote of 50-0 was recorded.

SB 200, PN 1332:  This bill establishes standards for the management of concussions and traumatic brain injuries to student athletes involved in interscholastic sporting competitions or other athletic events.  Senator Costa offered amendment A03517 which was agreed to.  The bill went over in its order.

SB 388, PN 1388:  The bill amends the Dental Law providing for professional liability insurance by adding a new section for Professional Liability Insurance.  Senator Vance offered amendment A03320 which is clarifying language.  A vote of 50-0 was recorded.

SB 800, PN 1324:  The legislation amends the Race Horse Industry Reform Act to provide that not more than two of the commission’s three members shall reside in the same county at the time of the appointment. Senator Wozniak offered amendment A03513 which grants the Harness Racing Commission one more license.  A vote of 16-34 was recorded on the amendment and the amendment failed.  A vote of 50-0 was recorded.

SB 1127, PN 1317:  This legislation amends the Pennsylvania Public School Code of 1949 to prohibit lame duck school boards from voting or taking other official action.  A vote of 33-17 was recorded.

SB 1131, PN 1389:  This bill amends Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) relating to comparative negligence, specifying when joint and several liability applies to the recovery of damages in a civil action.  A vote of 32-18 was recorded.
