Post Session Report: June 27, 2012

HB 869 PN 907 (Marsico): Authorizes funeral directors to display flashing or revolving purple lights on any funeral processional vehicle which is being driven in a funeral procession. Sen. Mensch offered Amendment A12699, which regarded illuminating decals was approved 45-4 and the bill was reported as amended.

HB 1055 PN 3577 (Mustio): Creates a freestanding act to regulate the professional employer organization (PEO) industry which will be known as the “Professional Employer Organization Act”. The bill was approved unanimously.

HB 1269 PN 2161 (Adolph): Creates special license plates for recipients of the Silver StarBronze Star, Bronze Star for Valor, Distinguished Service Cross, Distinguished Flying Cross, Navy Cross and Air Force Cross. The bill was approved unanimously.

SB 1345 PN 2285 (Folmer): Establishes a freestanding act known as the Wireless Broadband Collocation Act. The bill was approved 48-1.

SB 1503 PN 2120 (Argall): Grants and conveys to the Borough of Ashland or their assigns certain lands situate in the Borough of Ashland, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, a portion of which is subject to Project 70 restrictions. The bill was approved unanimously.

HB 1525 PN 3714 (Ellis): Provides for an exception to the requirement that a health club must have an employee trained and certified to administer CPR present during the club’s hours of operation. The bill was approved unanimously.

HB 1934 PN 3589 (F. Keller): Amends Act 101 of 1988, the Municipal Waste Planning, Recycling, and Waste Reduction Act, to exclude the population of a state or federal facility that conducts a recycling program administered by a state or federal government from the municipality’s total population count when this count is used to determine a municipality’s required compliance with the recycling law. The bill was approved unanimously.
