Post Session Report: May 7, 2012

SB 1225, PN 2128 (Pileggi) –   This bill codifies the Library Code in consolidated statute form to improve the readability of the Library Code and reconciles conflicts between the Library Code and regulations that have been issued under it.   On behalf of Senator Costa, Senator Williams offered Amendment A10211, which is technical in nature.  The amendment was agreed to.  Also on behalf of Senator Costa, Senator Williams offered Amendment A10240, which provides execptions and funding distribution changes for cities of the Second Class.  The amendment was agreed to and the bill went over as amended.

HB 1400, PN 2652 (Reichley) – This bill establishes the Primary Stroke Center Recognition Act.  Senator Vance offered Amendment A10206, which provides for a definition of “licensed acute care hospital.”  The amendment was agreed to and the bill went over as amended.

SB 1403, PN 1974 (Alloway) – This bill amends Title 34 (Game) to provide for liability protection to landowners.  A vote of 48-0 was recorded.

HB 2134, PN 2979 (Micozzie) – This bill amends Pennsylvania’s Risk-Based Capital (RBC) statutes (Act 40 of 1997 and Act 62 of 2000) for life or health and property or casualty insurers and for health organizationsrespectively, to require such organizations to more quickly formulate corrective action plans to address solvency problems before the regulator needs to take action.  A vote of 48-0 was recorded
