SB 552, PN 589 (Aument) – This legislation removes the “Veterans’ Memorial Trust Fund” from the Veterans Trust Fund and re-establishes it as a separate fund in the State Treasury.  It will be known as the Pennsylvania Veterans’ Monuments and Memorial Trust Fund.  The Fund will be used to maintain, promote, administer, operate, and complete monuments and memorials dedicated to Pennsylvania veterans and military units.  A vote of 49-0 was recorded.

SB 663, PN 781 (Laughlin) – This bill amends the Pennsylvania Construction Code Act to increase the number of third party code officials, from one to three, a municipality would be required to contract with; curtail the amount of fees a municipality may collect for code enforcement; and to allow the Department L&I to order municipalities to reduce fees it deems excessive.  Senator Martin offered amendment A02602, which removes all language pertaining to fee limitations.  The amendment was agreed to via voice vote and the bill went over in its order as amended.

SB 888, PN 1154 (Rafferty) – This bill amends Title 75 (Vehicles) to strengthen and clarify laws against those who violate the use of handicapped parking spaces as well as entities responsible for marking, maintaining and regulating handicapped spaces.  The legislation also allows law enforcement to create a position within their force to specialize in parking enforcement.  Senator Rafferty offered amendment A03818, which is technical in nature.  The amendment was agreed to via voice vote and the bill went over in its order as amended.
