SB 52 PN 33 (Greenleaf): This legislation amends Title 51 (Military Affairs) by adding Chapter 98, the National Guard Youth Challenge Program.  Senator Vulakovich offered Amendment A03391, which makes redefines definitions within the bill, adds wording for consultation with the Department of Education, places new requirements on posting information on the programs guidelines and provides for annual audits.  The amendment was agreed to and the bill went over as amended.

SB 373 PN 1287 (Eichelberger): This bill amends The Insurance Company Law of 1921 to direct insurance companies, at the patient’s authorization, to pay a dentist directly for services performed, regardless as to whether the dentist is in the patient’s insurance network. The bill was approved by a vote of 35-15.

SB 851 PN 1150 (Argall): This legislation amends the Real Estate Tax Sale Law to clarify that the ownership responsibility of a delinquent property will remain with the owner of record until the property is actually sold and the deed is transferred to the new owner.  The bill was approved by a vote of 50-0.

SB 978 PN 1367 (Baker): This legislation enacts the Home Health Prescription Medication Disposal Act. The Home Health Prescription Medication Disposal Act authorizes a home health agency or hospice upon the death or discharge of a patient and with the permission of the patient or the patient’s family member, caregiver or health care representative to dispose of a patient’s unused prescription medication.  The bill was approved by a vote of 50-0.

HB 1448 PN 2109 (Cutler):  This bill would place requirements on the PDE, PHEAA and colleges and universities to provide for transparency and accountability in student selection of colleges and academic majors.  Senator Eichelberger offered Amendment A05162, which makes technical amendments to the bill and adds provisions for approved foreign corporations. The amendment was agreed to and the bill went over as amended.

HB 1608 PN 2126 (Ward): This bill designates the bridge carrying U.S. Route 22 over the Juniata River, Norfolk Southern Corporation rail tracks and State Route 1010 in Smithfield and Henderson Townships, Huntingdon County, as the “Trooper Landon E. Weaver Memorial Bridge.” The bill was approved by a vote of 50-0.

HB 359 PN 2822 (English): This legislation amends Title 34 (Game) by expanding the wildlife covered under the mistaken kill provisions of the law. Additionally, the legislation provides for limits on the penalties for hunters who, in good-faith, report Game Code Violations. Furthermore, the legislation permits game enforcement officers to wear body cameras during the performance of their duties.  Senator Stefano offered Amendment A05351, which makes technical amendments to the suspension of privileges.  The amendment and the bill were agreed to and the bill went over as amended.

SR 228 PN 1285 (Eichelberger): This bill would provide for a Global Education Task Force in Pennsylvania. Senator Eichelberger offered Amendment A05365, which amends the proposed member composition of the Global Education Task Force. The amendment was agreed to and the resolution went over as amended.
