amends the Public Safety Emergency Telephone Act to establish an enhanced
wireless E-911 emergency telephone system to allow county 911 centers to
accurately pinpoint the location and phone number of a person who is calling for
emergency assistance.
A1883(Wagner): This
amendment makes an addition to the list of information that is to be included in
annual reports submitted by the advisory board that is established under this
legislation. The report is to now
include any advances in a wireless provider’s system technology or expansion
of its customer service area which further the goal of providing access to a
wireless E-911 system regardless of the customer’s geographic location on any
interstate in the Commonwealth. A
49-0 vote was recorded.

technical amendment which mainly clarifies language throughout the bill.
