HB 1733, PN3230 The legislation amends Title 53 (Municipalities Generally) and Title 64 (Public Authorities and Quasi-public Corporations) to recodify provisions concerning the Pennsylvania Convention Center Authority.  The bill repeals Chapter 59, regarding the Pennsylvania Convention Center Authority and adds a new chapter to Title 64 to continue the Pennsylvania Convention Center Authority.  Additionally, the bill clarifies several provisions of existing law, modernizes the financial and bond management powers of the Convention Center Authority, changes the future appointment of board members and includes transitional provisions.  A 50-0 vote was recorded. 

HB 1654, PN3184 The legislation establishes The Municipal Inspector Education and Training Account.  The bill adds a $2.00 fee to construction or building permits for inspector education and training, which would be deposited into the Municipal Inspector Training Fund within the Governor’s Center for Local Government Services. 

A0138(Thompson): This amendment replaces the term “municipal inspector” with “municipal code official” throughout the title and language of the bill.  A 50-0 vote was recorded.

The Senate also concurred in House amendments to the following bill:

SB 279, PN1061 The legislation amends Title 75 (Vehicles) to provide for special motorcycle plates for honorably discharged veterans.  The bill entitles any honorably discharged veteran of the Armed Services to purchase a commemorative motorcycle license plate for an additional fee of $20.  Additionally, the bill adds provisions to Act 123 of 2002, relating to the powers and duties of the Philadelphia Parking Authority.  A 29-21 party-line vote was recorded.
