PASSED THE SENATE

 

 

HB 506, PN1647 The legislation amends the Crimes Code to further provide for deceptive or fraudulent business practices.  The bill adds language to clarify that a person commits the offense of deceptive or fraudulent business practice if the person intentionally, knowingly or recklessly engages in certain acts.  A 50-0 vote was recorded.

The Senate also concurred in House amendments to Senate amendments to the following bill:

HB 1206, PN3537 The legislation amends the Local Tax Enabling Act to further provide for definitions and applicability of 2002 amendments regarding earned income tax.  The bill provides that the amendment of the definitions of “earned income” and “net profits” in the Local Tax Enabling Act, which shall now exclude wages or compensation paid to individuals on active military service, shall apply to taxable years beginning after December 31, 2002.  A 50-0 vote was recorded.

EXECUTIVE NOMINATIONS

Alfonso Frioni, Jr., Esq. and Robert Krebs were confirmed as members to the Workers’ Compensation Appeal Board.  A 50-0 vote was recorded.
