HB 794, PN3773 The legislation amends the Vital Statistics Law by changing the listings on birth certificates for foreign-born children and foreign–born children who are adopted in Pennsylvania, who meet the federal guidelines for citizenship and whose parents verify citizenship with Immigration and Naturalization Service.  A 50-0 vote was recorded. 

HB 832, PN3598 The legislation amends the Crimes Code to further provide for tattooing and to prohibit certain body piercing.  The bill adds the definition of “body piercing” to the Crimes Code.  The bill also requires the presence, rather than the consent, of a parent or guardian in both cases of body piercing and tattooing a minor.

A1525(Greenleaf): This amendment makes greyhound racing a first-degree misdemeanor punishable by a maximum $10,000 fine, five years in prison or both.  A 50-0 vote was recorded.

SB 1005, PN1363 The legislation amends the Judicial Code to provide that a district justice or notary public is not authorized to administer the oath of office to a judge with the exception of administering the oath of office to a district justice, Pittsburgh Magistrates Court or Traffic Court of Philadelphia. 

A1626(Mellow): This amendment deletes changes currently in the bill regarding the administering of oath and requires the Judicial Conduct Board to investigate any judge or judge-elect who take the oath of office from a person not permitted by law to administer it.  A 50-0 vote was recorded.
