HB 2190, PN3286 The legislation amends The Second Class Township Code regarding the sale of real property to a nonprofit organized to acquire and maintain real property for the conservation of open space.  Under this legislation, provisions of the Code regarding advertising and competitive bidding prior to the sale of real property do not apply when the township is selling or leasing real property to “a nonprofit association or nonprofit corporation organized to acquire and maintain real property for the preservation, conservation and stewardship of open space.”  A 50-0 vote was required.

HB 2428, PN3421 The legislation amends the First Class Township Code regarding the construction and maintenance of firehouses. The bill removes a provision that requires the board of commissioners to obtain voter approval to construct or maintain firehouses in townships of the first class.  A 50-0 vote was recorded.
