HB 550, PN3771
:
The legislation amends Title 75 (Vehicles) to prohibit parking in certain areas.  The bill prohibits the parking of vehicles within 30 feet of signs warning of the possible presence of a disabled person living in or traversing the area.  The bill also raises the fine from $15 to a new maximum of $50 for a violation of not only this new provision but also the other restricted parking areas covered in the Vehicle Code. 

A2169(Madigan): This amendment allows a local ordinance to specify the height of vehicles prohibited from parking in these locations.  The amendment also changes the effective date of the act from 60 days to immediately.  A 50-0 vote was recorded.

HB 659, PN3594: The legislation amends Title 34 (Game) allow any person, who has never held a hunting license in Pennsylvania or any other state, to accompany a licensed hunter or furtaker in hunting and trapping activities.  The licensed hunter must be at least 18 years of age and must keep the unlicensed hunter in sight and be able to communicate to them with out the aid of any device. 

A2160(Brightbill): This is a technical amendment to clarify language in the bill.  A 50-0 vote was recorded.

SB 1107, PN1579: The legislation amends the Public School Code to require that certain school districts revise their professional education plans and to require the Department of Education to create a clearinghouse of continuing professional education programs.  A 50-0 vote was recorded.

SB 1108, PN1593: The legislation amends the Public School Code to require the Department of Education to provide technical assistance to certain schools upon request.  The bill requires the Department of Education to provide technical assistance to schools that have not met state academic performance targets or that have been identified for school improvement or corrective action within ten days upon request.  The Department of Education shall establish a

clearinghouse of information for school districts that are eligible to receive technical assistance. 

A2164(Rhoades): This is a technical amendment to clarify language in the bill.  A 50-0 vote was recorded.

HB 2042, PN2692: The legislation amends Title 34 (Game) to provide for the issuance of a special wild turkey license.  The license allows a hunter to harvest additional turkeys above and beyond the number allowed by a regular license.  The cost of the license shall be $20 for a resident and $40 for a nonresident.

A2031(Mellow): This is a technical amendment that inserts the word “special” before the phrase “wild turkey license.”  A 50-0 vote was recorded.
