PASSED THE SENATE

 

HB 565, PN667: The legislation amends Title 34 (Game) to reduce the size of the safety zone for all licensed bow and arrow or crossbow hunters from 150 yards to 50 yards.  The 150-yard safety zone would still apply to the area adjacent to any attached or detached playground of any school, nursery school or day-care center. 

A2026(Brightbill): This is a technical amendment that changes the effective date of the act from July 1, 2003 to July 1, 2004.  A 49-0 vote was recorded.

HB 2083, PN2773: The legislation amends the Domestic Relations Code to repeal the Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction Act in favor of the Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction and Enforcement Act (UCCJEA).  The bill establishes priorities for courts assuming jurisdiction over actions for custody.  First priority is given to the child’s home state.  A 49-0 vote was recorded.
